Malcolm Turnbull to become next Prime Minister of Australia – Brasenose’s second sitting premier
The College was delighted to learn that The Hon Malcolm Turnbull MP (BCL, 1978) is to become the 29th Prime Minister of Australia after a leadership contest held on Monday 14 September. Mr Turnbull studied for a BCL degree at Brasenose between 1978 and 1980 as a Rhodes Scholar.
Mr Turnbull joins The Right Hon David Cameron MP (PPE, 1985) to become the second sitting Commonwealth premier who studied at Brasenose College.
We wish Mr Turnbull well in forming the next government of Australia.
