Brasenose students achieve academic success

resultsphotoBrasenose College is delighted to announce outstanding results for our undergraduate final examinations this summer. With 107 finishing their courses, 41 achieved first-class degrees and a further 49 secured a 2:1 (upper-second) classification. Several of our students were also awarded University prizes, topped their class lists, or received special commendation from the Chair of Examiners in recognition of their performances.

Our undergraduates hail from all parts of the UK and beyond –  from Wigan to Welwyn Garden City, Bath to Birmingham, Portsmouth to Perth, Gateshead to Gloucester, Edinburgh to Essex, Tadcaster to Toronto, Liverpool to Lewisham, Stafford and Sunderland – Brasenose prides itself in bringing students from all locations together to form a vibrant, diverse and ever changing community, and providing support and encouragement to enable students to prosper academically and socially.

John Bowers commented: " I am delighted to be Principal of Brasenose at this time of excellent academic achievement. I pay tribute to the extraordinary efforts of our students and Tutors in bringing about this success. Our academic distinction rests on the efforts of everyone in the college working together to help students achieve their potential.”

Senior Tutor, Simon Smith, added: “I am looking forward to celebrating these tremendous results with the leavers and their families at the graduation ceremony later this month – and also to welcoming Brasenose’s new Freshers in October.”

Brasenose aims to admit the brightest students, regardless of background, and to enable its undergraduates to fulfil their potential. If you are thinking of applying to Oxford this autumn, view our prospectus online and consider visiting during our 16th September Open Day.
