Open Days are some of our favourite days of the year. You'll see where you might live, eat, and study – and talk to the people who are doing that right now. Our next Open Day will be on Friday 18th September 2026.
What happens on the day
You’ll be welcomed to Brasenose and immediately matched up with a current student, who will show you around College and answer any questions you may have about life here. We will do our best to match you up with a helper who is studying your subject of interest, or one which is very similar.
We have the largest group of student ambassadors of any Oxford college – all of whom are incredible. Many of them chose Brasenose after visiting on an open day and are eager to give back and show off our college and community!
Our Senior Tutor, Ms Freyja Masden, will also run an admissions talk at 11am, where you can ask questions about applying and living at Brasenose.
Meet the Tutors
In the afternoon, you’ll have the chance to meet College subject tutors. They’ll talk about what studying your subject at Oxford involves, the admissions process, and can answer your questions. There’s no need to feel nervous! Our tutors are friendly, approachable and brilliant at what they do – they’re looking forward to meeting you!
The majority of these sessions are run as drop-ins; please pop by any time you can within the time slot stated. Some are talks; for these, please try to aim to arrive at the start time shown. There is no need to book in advance. See the timetable below.
Please note that, due to space restrictions, it may be that only prospective applicants can attend the Meet the Tutors sessions. Teachers, parents, guardians and supporters, please ask the tutor on arrival if you wish to attend.

I visited Brasenose as a last minute stop on the way to the Park and Ride to go home, having not really found a specific college I loved. However, immediately at Brasenose, I was chatting away to the event helpers, enjoying the music and the refreshments area, and ended up staying for an hour having a lovely time. Now I’m here and a student ambassador myself, I hope to replicate that for all our visitors this year!

One of my personal highlights from visiting on the Open Days was the pop music playing on entry. The girl who toured me around was a geographer and she was so lovely and personal, introducing herself and asking for my name too. The moment I knew Brasenose was the one was when I went into the dining hall to see a bottle of ketchup, brown sauce and mustard in the middle of each table. All the other colleges I had visited had laid out their tables like a formal, yet as soon as I saw that, I felt at home and immediately leaned over to my mum to say “that’s a bit of us”.

Visiting departments, libraries and museums
Our Open Days are scheduled to coincide with the University-wide Open Day, when all departments and faculties will be open. We would recommend visiting your department too if you can, as this will give you a fuller sense of the facilities and what your course would be like.
