Care Experienced, Estranged and Young Carer students

Our goal at Brasenose College is for everyone to feel welcome and supported during their time with us. There are a growing number of students at Brasenose and Oxford more widely who are, or have been, supported by social care services, may be estranged or have caring responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that all applicants are fully supported to help them enjoy their university experience and thrive on course.

Prospective applicants with care experience are encouraged to declare this on their UCAS application, should they feel comfortable doing so. This enables the University to assess applications fairly and to contact applicants regarding the support available to them. Applicants who are estranged from their families or who have caring responsibilities are advised to ask their teacher or referee to detail this in the extenuating circumstances section of the application or within the teacher reference.
