When I’m not working, I enjoy…
Dancing salsa with Muevete Oxford and the Oxford Salsa Society! I also make and paint little clay creations to give to friends and family.
What’s the best part of studying at Brasenose?
Brasenose has amazing support for students to pursue their academic and extracurricular passions. Through Brasenose, I have been able to go clay pigeon shooting, take weekly salsa classes, and learn French through the Oxford Language Centre.
Favourite spot in college?
The Del Favero Reading Room in the Greenland Library!
What’s your favourite aspect of your course?
My favourite aspect are the events. Last month, we had Professor Amal Clooney speak at the Blavatnik School of Government to launch the Oxford Institute for Technology and Justice.
What would you tell someone thinking about applying?
I would tell them to go for it! The application is intimidating but the payoff is well worth it. As you write your application, spend a lot of time reflecting on who you were, are, and want to be. Demonstrate how your course is the perfect path to get there.
A quality you think is important for someone looking to study at Oxford?
A quality I think is essential for someone studying at Oxford is the ability to understand and communicate nuance. Passion is important, but it’s not enough on its own. Oxford’s Master of Public Policy demands that you study the minutiae of a policy issue. They look for the ability to question assumptions and articulate the finer points of your position.
