We usually admit four students each year, with teaching that covers areas from protein structure to genetics and cell biology.
There is no admissions test for Biochemistry. Further information on entry requirements, including the school subjects normally expected and guidance on deferred applications, is available on the central Oxford University website.
Brasenose Biochemists take up many different paths after graduation. Some continue into postgraduate research, while others work in industrial research and development, finance, management or law. Several have trained as Patent Agents or moved into scientific publishing. The analytical and practical skills developed on the course provide an excellent foundation for varied careers.
From molecules and genes to ecosystems and biodiversity, combining theoretical study with practical field experience in the UK and abroad.
Build a broad foundation across organic, inorganic and physical chemistry before specialising and carrying out original research.
Combine pre-clinical study with clinical placements and biomedical science, guided by tutors working in neuroscience and clinical medicine.
