The 1509 Society
Members of the 1509 Society are committed to ensuring that Brasenose remains a place of academic excellence, supporting the brightest minds with a transformative education and experience.
Named after the year of the College’s foundation, the 1509 Society reflects Brasenose’s enduring values. Thanks to generous donors giving £1,509 or more each year, the College can continue to uphold excellence, achievement, and a spirit of academic curiosity. Each year, members of the 1509 Society, along with a guest, are invited to a drinks reception to celebrate and recognise the impact of their generosity.
How to Become a Member of the 1509 Society?
We invite donors to become committed members of the 1509 Society by giving at least the levels outlined below via Direct Debit. Alternatively, Old Members may choose to join the Society for a single year with a gift of £1,509 or more.

The Alexander Nowell Circle
The Alexander Nowell Circle celebrates alumni and friends who have chosen to support Brasenose through a gift in their Will. Membership of the Circle is our way of expressing gratitude and recognising the lasting impact of these thoughtful commitments.
Brasenose College Donor Board
Transformational gifts to the College are recognised and celebrated in many ways and are often memorialised on the College’s Board of Benefactors, which names those who have made a significant contribution to the history and future of the College.
Naming Opportunities

University-wide Recognition
Significant gifts are acknowledged at multiple levels across the University. From the Vice-Chancellor’s Circle, which honours individuals, foundations, and corporate benefactors, to the Chancellor’s Court of Benefactors, donors have the opportunity to engage directly with senior leaders, including the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor, and gain a deeper insight into the life, work, and impact of both the University and the College.
