The Grigas Award

SCROLL TO EXPLORE

The Grigas Award was made possible through the generous philanthropic support of Dr Agnia Grigas (International Relations, 2007), a Brasenose alumna and leading expert in energy and geopolitical economy. The new award will provide opportunities for both undergraduate and postgraduate students to pursue academic and extracurricular activities in Lithuania, encouraging them to deepen their learning, explore new culture, and expand their perspectives beyond the classroom.

Dr Grigas’s gift reflects her enduring commitment to global curiosity, cross-cultural understanding, and academic adventure – values that resonate deeply with the Brasenose community.

Reflecting on her motivation to give back, Agnia shared:

“My years at Brasenose combined rigorous study with friendships that have endured. Guided by Professor Vernon Bogdanor and immersed in college traditions, I found a true intellectual home. Establishing the Grigas Award was my way of giving back to a community that shaped me so profoundly. As someone Lithuanian-born and American-raised, I hope this award shares a part of my heritage and broadens students’ perspectives. By supporting Brasenose as alumni, we help preserve its unique spirit and ensure that future generations can grow, discover, and thrive as we once did.”

Thanks to Dr Grigas’s generosity, Brasenose students will now have a new avenue to connect their studies with meaningful international experience, strengthening the College’s long-standing tradition of nurturing open-minded, globally engaged scholars.
