Schools and Outreach

SCROLL TO EXPLORE

We welcome applications from enthusiastic and curious students from all backgrounds. We’re also proud that, in recent years, around 80% of our UK undergraduates have joined us from state schools.

Meet the Outreach Team

What outreach means: we reach out to, connect with, and support talented students –especially those who may be underrepresented or don’t always get the support they need.

Joe Organ (Head of Access) and Holly Plater (Outreach and Schools Liaison Coordinator) make up Brasenose’s Outreach team. We’re here to help students make informed choices about university and guide applicants through the Oxbridge application process.

Regional Outreach

Every Oxford college has certain regions they focus on for outreach work. This helps us reach as many students as possible. At Brasenose, we work with schools in East Berkshire, North Yorkshire and Northern Ireland.

Throughout the year, we run lots of different events for schools and colleges, including:

  • Visits to Brasenose
  • Trips out to schools to run workshops, presentations and assemblies about university life and demystifying Oxbridge
  • Personal statement support
  • Interview workshops

If you’re a student, teacher or supporter from one of our link areas, feel free to contact Joe and Holly with any questions.

Open Days

Open Days are some of our favourite days of the year – we’d love to welcome you to College soon! You can read more about the event here.

Individual Visits

Can’t make an Open Day? No problem – prospective students are welcome to visit throughout the year. We’re happy to welcome visitors from inside and outside our link regions. To arrange a visit, just get in touch with Joe and Holly in the Outreach team (outreach@bnc.ox.ac.uk).

Collaborations

We work with organisations like Target Oxbridge, The Brilliant Club, ACS and MASSOLIT, and we’re part of wider university programmes such as UNIQ and Opportunity Oxford.
