SCROLL TO EXPLORE

When I’m not working, I enjoy…

Playing korfball – a really fun mixed-gender sport which is a mix of basketball and netball, played by mixed teams of men and women. I also love running around the Oxfordshire countryside (my favourite places have to be Bagley Woods and Boars Hill), and also singing in the Brasenose Chapel Choir and with the Christchurch Cathedral Singers – Oxford really is a wonderful place for choral music!

What’s the best part of studying at Brasenose?

It has to be the supportive environment fostered by the Brasenose community. I’ve been at Brasenose since I was 18 and I’ve really loved getting to know so many diverse and friendly people – both students and staff.

Favourite spot in college?

The view from the window next to the College Office. I remember sitting on the window ledge and watching the snow settle on the picture-perfect backdrop of the Chapel and the Radcliffe Camera when I was in undergrad. Magic.

What’s your favourite aspect of your course?

The scientific freedom afforded by my programme. My department is one of the best in the World for my field, and the opportunities to pursue interesting questions in structural biology is unmatched pretty much anywhere else.

What would you tell someone thinking about applying?

Do it! There is a place for you here and you’ll be glad you applied!

A quality you think is important for someone looking to study at Oxford?

Pick a subject that you’re genuinely passionate about. Your passion will shine through in your interview, and it will also get you through the hard times.
