Thanks to generous philanthropic support, Brasenose College is delighted to announce the establishment of the Luna Hu Memorial Travel Award for Ultra-Endurance Sports.

This award provides financial support to Brasenose students participating in endurance and ultra-endurance events such as marathons, ultramarathons, and Ironman competitions. It helps cover travel and accommodation expenses, enabling students to take part in these demanding challenges, push their limits, and experience the transformative power of perseverance and self-discovery.

The award has been established in loving memory of Luna Hu, a brilliant and compassionate Bio Medical PhD student whose life, though tragically cut short at the age of 26, left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Luna was not only an exceptional scholar but also a passionate endurance athlete who inspired others through her determination, kindness, and courage to live with purpose and to strive beyond boundaries.

Through this award, Luna’s family honours her legacy by encouraging students to embody the values she lived by: kindness, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence in all endeavours. By supporting students in their athletic journeys, the Luna Hu Memorial Travel Award for Ultra-Endurance Sports keeps her spirit alive and inspires future generations to live boldly, care deeply, and run fearlessly toward their dreams.
