Sir Dave Ramsden (PPE, 1983) joined the Bank of England on 4 September 2017 as Deputy Governor for Markets and Banking. In this capacity, he serves on the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), the Financial Policy Committee (FPC), the Prudential Regulation Committee (PRC), and the Court of the Bank of England. He also chairs the RTGS/CHAPS Board and holds executive responsibility for the Bank’s Markets, Banking, Payments, and Resolution directorates. Before his appointment, Sir Dave was Chief Economic Adviser at HM Treasury from 2007 to 2017. He was knighted in the 2015 New Year Honours for services to economic policymaking.
