We admit for both the three year BA Jurisprudence and the four year BA Law with a year in Europe (The Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy or Spain). We aim to admit ten new students each year. Those wishing to apply for deferred entry, or those currently on a gap year are equally welcome. We do not admit for Senior Status Law.
All applicants for Law will need to take the LNAT to be considered. Further information on the LNAT and the admissions process for Law can be found on the central Oxford University website.
While there is no assumption that our Law graduates pursue a legal career, the majority enter the legal profession. Oxford Law courses are recognised by the Bar Standards Board and meet the requirements for the academic component of professional training for qualifying to practice as a barrister.
Many Oxford Law graduates also go on to successful careers practising law outside England and Wales, as the fundamental principles of English common law play a key role in several other jurisdictions.
