Brasenose Alumni Society

The Brasenose Alumni Society exists to help alumni maintain a strong connection with the College Community and each other. Every graduating student automatically becomes part of the Society which is run by alumni for alumni. The Society currently hosts two big events a year – a Summer Party in London and a Dinner in College in September. These events are great opportunities to meet up with old friends and make new ones. The Society’s activities are overseen by a committee.

Elected Officers for 2025/26 include:

President – Jane Johnson (English, 1987)
Vice President – Will Palin (English, 1990)
Treasurer – Amanda Pullinger (Modern History, 1984)
Secretary – Penny Andrews (Mathematics, 1979)

The Year Rep Scheme

The College’s Year Representative (Year Rep) Scheme is designed to build and strengthen connections between members of the College who matriculated in the same year, while helping them stay engaged with the wider College community.

The scheme has a purely social focus: encouraging year groups to remain in regular contact. This may take the form of friends coming together at events organised by BNC, or at informal gatherings arranged independently by year group members themselves. Ideally, every matriculation year will have a Year Rep. Representatives are usually asked to serve for up to seven years and, when stepping down, to help identify a suitable successor.

Each Year Rep is provided with a dedicated BNC email address for their year group, making it easy to share news and maintain contact. The direct insight that Year Reps provide into the views and experiences of their year group is particularly valuable to BNC, and reps are offered certain benefits as a thank-you for their service.

Please get in touch with the Development Office to find out about contacting your year rep or if you are interested in becoming one.
