The Collections

The Archives are a rich historical resource covering every aspect of College life. They include the foundation charter, Governing Body minutes, College accounts, architectural drawings, and papers of Principals, societies and alumni. We also hold early deeds and manorial records relating to College land ownership across England.

Many collections are in the process of being catalogued, and we are happy to advise on specific areas of interest.

College estates

Since its foundation in 1509, Brasenose has owned more than two hundred estates and smaller properties across England. The estates records, including deeds, maps and correspondence, trace their management and sale, revealing the College’s economic history and regional links.
