Brasenose College is seeking to appoint a Junior Dean with effect from 1st September 2026 – 31st August 2027 (which may be renewed).  The post is open to those engaged in graduate study at Oxford University, including international students.

The Junior Dean will be part of a team of three supporting the Brasenose College Dean, Sub Dean and other College Officers by promoting good relations and a positive atmosphere in College. In particular, the Junior Deans presence in College and Frewin provides a supplementary channel of communication between Senior and Junior Members.

The current stipend will be £3,494 per annum and free accommodation is provided either at the main historical College site or at the Frewin or St Cross Annexes. For the period of their appointment Junior Deans are guests of the Senior Common Room with meal entitlements as detailed in the further particulars.

Junior Deans must be members of the College and preference will be given to those engaged in doctoral research and a significant degree of relevant experience will be expected. It should be noted that the post should not be considered in itself sufficient to support graduate study in Oxford and the work is limited to no more than 20 hours per week. More details are in the further particulars.

A letter of application and CV should be submitted online. Applicants should provide the names and contact details of two referees in their application. The College will contact the referees of candidates shortlisted for interview to request a reference.

The closing date for applications is noon on Wednesday 22nd April 2026, and any queries about the application process should be addressed to the College Academic Registrar, Bronwen Tomkinson, Brasenose College, Oxford, OX1 4AJ (email: college.office@bnc.ox.ac.uk).
