Annual Diversity Lecture: “The effects of what you can't see”

The Annual Diversity Lecture guest speaker is Rhys Phillip, Chief Executive Officer at Cornerstone, and the title of his lecture is “The effects of what you can't see”.

Despite being severely sight impaired, Rhys joined Cornerstone as Chief Executive Officer in March 2018 and is responsible for the Leadership, Operations and strategic direction of the business. Cornerstone is the leading mobile network infrastructure in the UK, managing 21000 steel structures that facilitate the signals mobile operators rely on, by renting out space to hang antennas. Previously, Rhys served on the Executive Committee of IHS Towers as Group Chief Commercial Officer, building a commercial proposition and sales team for the largest tower company in EMEA. Rhys has over 24 years of experience in the Telecommunications sector in Senior Executive roles with BT and Vodafone and as a Senior Partner with Ernst & Young LLP’s Global Transactions business. Rhys is an ACA and a graduate of Cambridge University. He is “severely sight impaired” due to Retinitis Pigmentosa which is an inherited genetic disorder affecting the retina. It is an unpredictably progressive condition.
