Mentoring Scheme

The Brasenose Society Mentoring Scheme is made possible by a voluntary network of over 100 alumni willing to offer careers advice to both students and other alumni.

Request a BNC Mentor

The Mentoring Scheme provides an opportunity to find out more about a broad range of professions and career paths. It is an excellent opportunity to connect with some distinguished and high achieving former Members.

If you would like to connect with a Mentor, email the Alumni Relations and Development Office detailing the area of work you are most interested in. We will then look for a suitable mentor for you and provide you with a list of Members working in the relevant sector for you to choose from. At this stage you will be asked to write a covering letter/email of introduction and attach your CV which we will forward to the selected Mentor.

It is important to note that Mentors have the freedom to offer support in whichever way they feel most comfortable and may be in touch via email, phone or in person.

Volunteer to become a BNC Mentor

We are always delighted to welcome new volunteers to the Mentoring Scheme, so please do not hesitate to get in touch with the Alumni Relations and Development Office if this is something you would like to become a part of. You can also express your interest via our Alumni Community (drop-down box at the bottom of the page). The level of commitment required can be as low - or high - as mentors wish, it could simply consist of an occasional telephone call or e-mail, or extend to personal meetings and visits to College or the workplace.

Once registered as a Mentor volunteer, you will be forwarded any requests from prospective mentees (including a message of introduction and CV) for you to connect with.
