Brasenose College, Oxford - Alexander Obelensky, Rugby Player
Prince Alexander Obolensky was a member of an
exiled Russian family. He already had a
reputation as a Rugby player when he came up to Brasenose in 1934 and he played
for the University and for England
whilst he was an undergraduate.
He joined the R.A.F. at the beginning of World War II and was killed in a flying accident in March 1940, the first Brasenose man to die on active service in that war.
