Harold Parr Bursaries for undergraduates

Several Harold Parr bursaries are available for undergraduates in any subject, although a preference will be given to those reading Law or Mathematics.

The bursaries are designed to support access to an Oxford education and are thus

aimed at students in particular need of financial assistance.  Each bursary is worth £500-£600.  Students in receipt of an Oxford Opportunity Bursary or who have narrowly missed out on one are encouraged to apply.

Application Forms are available from Fiona Gair in the Finance Bursary, (fiona.gair@bnc.ox.ac.uk).  The College will need to check applicants' residual household income (as assessed by their local educational authorities and shared with the University) to ensure that the bursaries are awarded according to financial need.

The application forms must be returned to the College Accountant no later than Wednesday 21 December 2011.

The trust was established by benefactors who studied Law and Mathematics at Brasenose and St Anne's Colleges and is named after Harold Parr, an eminent teacher of Mathematics who published a series of mathematics text books which were widely used in secondary schools for several decades in the late twentieth century.
