The Brasenose College Finance Bursary

The Finance Bursary is located within the Bursary and is the department that deals with all financial administration and management for the College, its students and fellows.

The department is headed by the College Accountant, Mrs Julia Palejowska ACA, supported by the Assistant Accountant, Mrs Jan Jordan, and a team of four finance assistants.

Student contact with the Finance Bursary is predominantly in connection with batels (Oxford University term for the invoices raised to students), which are payable termly, student funding issues, and the administration of student support.

Mrs Fiona Gair is the Finance Assistant who should be your first port of call for either the payment of batels, or for any queries in relation to charges, bursaries, scholarships, loans or for any other matter related to student finance. Fiona will pass the matter on to the Assistant Accountant or College Accountant as appropriate if she is unable to answer your query straight away.

Please ensure that should you have any real difficulty with the payment of your batels, you must contact the Finance Bursary before the due date for payment if you want to avoid a hefty late payment charge. Fiona will advise whether you need to make an appointment to see the College Accountant or not.

If Fiona is busy, Divinah Williams will be happy to help.

You can contact Fiona on 01865 277872, or, if appropriate, the Assistant Accountant, or College Accountant on 01865 277879.

Fiona will also pick up emails from the general bursary email address at bursary@bnc.ox.ac.uk.

The Finance Bursary is open from 9am to 12am and from 1pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday throughout the year (not just in term-time!).
