The Elected Executive

HCR officers are elected either once a year (President, Vice President, Secretary, Steward, Domestic Rep and Women's/Welfare officer) or once every two terms (the Social Secretaries). The main elections, for the senior offices, are held in Hilary Term. Nominations close Saturday of fifth week and on Sunday of sixth week the appointments begin. If the elections are uncontested, the members present at ‘hustings' can decide to elect or reject the candidate. If there is a contest, it proceeds to a two-day ballot election on the Wednesday and Thursday of seventh week.
