Work in Progress
I am currently working on a book on the fallen woman on stage from early nineteenth-century melodramas through to the present day. This project encompasses adaptations of French plays on the London stage, society dramas of the late Victorian and Edwardian period, the rise of the well-made play, Edwardian suffrage drama, early film and plays on homosexuality.
